Free Mental Health Support This Summer
The festive season and new year period is an important time for proactive approach to mental health. Available via Telehealth with no waitlist, NewAccess is accessible, free support for anyone experiencing financial stress, bushfire anxiety and other issues this Summer.
As the silly season sets in and the weather heats up, the issue of mental health doesn’t go away. In fact this period can be a major stressor for many in the community with these common challenges often coming to the surface
- Financial and relationship stress
- Unhealthy lifestyle choices such as excessive drinking and eating, and staying up late
- Bushfire anxiety, especially for those directly affected by the 2020 bushfire season
- End of year burnout
- Lack of motivation, purpose and direction with the New Year providing a focus for goal setting
Over six consecutive weeks, NewAccess provides a structured program of low intensity CBT to prevent these issues from spiralling into severe mental health symptoms. It also gives participants an opportunity to receive psychoeducation so they can move forward with a better understanding and toolkit to manage their mental health long-term.
Our mental health coaches work one-on-one over 6 sessions with individuals tackling:
- Low mood and lack of motivation
- Stress, worry and anxiety
- Big life changes – moving house, separation, changing jobs, becoming a parent or losing someone close
- Sleep or concentration issues
- Panic and phobias
- Problem solving
NewAccess is suitable for people diagnosed with mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression and is available in person or by Telehealth for anyone aged 12 years and over.
NewAccess isn’t right for a person in crisis or currently seeing a psychologist or psychiatrist.
