Mental Health Training
To date, SPAN’s role in training has mainly been in facilitating a variety of training courses through promoting, booking, catering, covering venue and cost of participant manuals etc., in support of trainers provided by other organisations. These courses have provided training for around 100 community members each year and range from 3 hours to 1 and 2 days. SPAN has also introduced and continues to make possible interactive training sessions for various young sports people using a program called “Read the Play”.
With the recently awarded post bushfire recovery grant through Coordinare and supported by donation from Insurance Advisernet Foundation, SPAN has been able to expand its mental health training activities for community members. Funding provided through the grant has given SPAN the ability to have two of its experienced members undertake “train-the-trainer” training with Mental Health First Aid Australia. Our educators are available to provide courses in Mental Health First Aid to community members, increasing the number of training opportunities to people in our region.
Training courses will be listed in Events & Training tab when available. Enquiries Training contact
