Safe Haven now open in BEGA!

The Bega Valley Safe Haven has opened after years of advocacy by SPAN and the SLHD. Amy Power and her team of workers have moved in to 17 Bega Street Bega. ph 02 6491 9214. Hours of operation are 12-7pm 7 days a week.

A warm, welcoming and safe place, the Safe Haven is an alternative to the emergency department for people in distress. There is access to peer workers with lived experience of suicidal crisis and mental health professionals. It is an inclusive space, open to everyone, including all ages. If under 16, please attend with a parent or guardian. It is free – no medicare card or appointment needed.

Call the Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511 when the Safe Haven is not available or Lifeline 13 11 14; or if someone you know is in immediate danger, please call 000.
